Baking Culinary Camp

This hands on cooking class will explore the world of pastries and baking. Students will learn proper baking techniques as well as the science behind the baking.Clean up will be taught at the end of every class to ensure proper sanitary techniques are employed. Hand washing as well as a safe and sanitary way to clean the kitchen.

Fee: $200.00 per child
Time: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 1:00 (week long summer camp)
Ages: 5-14 younger ages will be considered
Limit: 12 students per class

FOOD IS SCIENCE CAMP

Children’s food is Science Camp Curriculum
A very interactive, hands-on summer camp for children age 6 –10 or age 11 – 14. Children will work side by side with a
professional chef and learn the science of food. Each day we will do a different science experiment and link that experiment
to the menu we are preparing for the day. There will be a take home from each class to re-emphasize the lesson for the day at
home. The importance of safety and healthy food practices will also be taught.
Join us this summer for our best culinary camp yet.

CLASS ONE – Monday - The science of making a simple dough. Yeast and how it works
EXPERIMENT - Science experiment with yeast
MENU – mini pizzas with various toppings and breadsticks
CLASS TWO – Tuesday - Egg-cell-lent Eggs
EXPERIMENT - Science experiment with eggs
MENU - Four ways to cook eggs fresh fruit salad
CLASS THREE – Wednesday -Simple Fresh Chicken and Dumplings
EXPERIMENT - Science of processed food Soda experiment
MENU – Chicken and dumplings
CLASS FOUR –Thursday -Tasting without Smell
EXPERIMENT: Taste test without smell
MENU – Fresh lemon curd – Roasted garlic and bacon mac and cheese

CLASS FIVE – Friday - Making Pasta
EXPERIMENT - How to tell if eggs are good or bad
MENU: Fresh fettuccine pasta and an easy marinara sauce.

International Culinary Camp pt1
Chef Danie’s --- International Cooking Class
This interactive culinary for camp for kids will start out with teaching the basics of food culture from other countries. Students will take their taste buds on a culinary tour of other countries and cook a meal from each country and learn the importance of fresh food. Clean up will be taught at the end of every class to ensure proper sanitary techniques are employed. Hand washing as well as a safe and sanitary way to clean the kitchen.

Class 3 - France – Lesson on the food culture of France
Menu – Ratatouille / Ham and Cheese Crepes
Class 4 – Italy – Lesson on food culture of Italy
Menu – Beef and cheese raviolis w/ fresh marinara
Class 5 – Japan – Lessons on the food culture of Japan
Menu – Sushi / Chicken Teriyaki
